„A good songs doesn't end up with any questions unanswered“ says Jagun. In opposite her fantastic début album with 11 exceptional original compositions gives us some questions that need to be answered.

Her fantastic voice has an easy, airy and almost weightless touch and dances with the melodies in an enchanting way. But she is not only one more new voice entering the list of great female jazz vocalists like Diana Krall, Rebekka Bakken, Katie Melua and others. Also the interplay with her band composed by the Australian Ben Grayson on piano, Michael Kersting on drums and the Austrian bass-player Manuel Zacek let her voice glare. Additionally there are some great guests on this album like flute player Kalle Böhm, who has played the flute melody of the famous title song of the children TV programme „Sendung mit der Maus“.

The art of interaction, the filigree change of discipline and freedom is celebrated in a perfect way on „My Blue Hour“ and lead to cheerful Latin- and bossa grooves that remind on Brazilian albums from the 50ies that mean a great influence for Eva. Also in the studio she searched together with co-producer Rainer Robben for this sound and recorded „My Blue Hour“ with a warm, acoustic sound refined with string arrangements, flugelhorn and acoustic guitar.

Eva grew up in the area around Cologne within a musical family with three sisters and one brother. She studied violin, flute, guitar and piano and made her first experience with her family-ensemble, choirs and bands. When she was just 20 years old she hurled herself into the adventure USA where she immersed herself consciously in the music scene. Assured by her new experiences she started to study music in Hamburg after coming back. Then she moved to Berlin where she still lives today.

Since some years she is a demanded violinist and singer for different studio and live projects. She performed for artists like Nina Hagen, The Baseballs or Didi Hallverorden. Her most important encounter was the meeting with the Jazz Bassist from Cameroun Richard Bona who became one of Evas biggest idols. Playing music and composing was something Eva had in her genes but also something she worked very hard on.

All this can be heard in the songs of „My Blue Hour“. There are no doubts to what blue hour the album title refers: for Jagun the sun just started to rise.
