Amparo Sánchez is without any doubt one of the leading voices and personalities of the alternative Spanish music scene. The last years, the Granada-born and based singer was mainly focussing on her band Amparanoia but that will change from 2024 on. With her ‘Ritual Sonoro’ Tour Amparo Sánchez want to hit the road again performing songs and work from her different solo-albums…
Under that name 'Tucson Habana 15 Years', Amparo Sánchez will once again perform songs from her various solo albums that she released under her own name since 2010. Albums which always provide a very personal insight into the soul and emotions of the Andalusian singer. Whether it is the classic 'Tucson-Habana' (produced by Joey Burns & John Convertino of Calexico), the inspiring 'Alma de Cantaora' (including the hit under the same name from 2012) or the widely praised 'Espíritu del Sol', the Amparo Sánchez's solo repertoire is so versatile and diverse that a concert of hers today invariably differs from that of yesterday...
For this ‘Tucson-Habana 15 Years’ tour Amparo Sánchez is accompanied on stage by 2 side-kicks. On guitar there is her loyal guitarist Willy Fuego, who has been on the road with Amparo since 2010, and who we also know from his work with La Kinky Beat, Rumbaristas, Palmerita Coco Blue... And the 2nd one is the well known Argentinian composer and musician Raly Barrionuevo.
Raly Barrionuevo got very known with his typical interpretation of the Argentinian ‘chacarera’ music. Deepening everyday issues, Raly has managed to capture a unique essence in his compositions, which accompanies with an overflowing passion in his songs. Sometimes typical Argentinian folk music, sometimes really jazzy, sometimes even poppy. Raly was touring before with Amparo Sánchez and they now will hit the road together. A special surprise for everyone who loves the Latin-American musical scene!
'Tucson-Habana 15 Years' will undoubtedly be a fascinating concert series by Amparo Sánchez. True to her talent and conviction, Amparo allows the audience to experience a special evening in which musical diversity and positivism are key issues.
